Combined Water supply scheme to 250 rural habitations in Andipatty, Kadamalaigundu, Myladumparai and Theni Union of Theni District from Downstream side of Vaigaidam surface water of river Vaigai as source from pickup weir. The Scheme was announced by Honourable Chief Minister of Tamilnadu for year 2017-2018 in the Collector’s conference. (Announcement No:30).

This scheme has been administratively sanctioned for Rs.162.43 core. Vide G.O.(Ms.) No.30/Date: 02.03.2020 and technically sanctioned for Rs.162.43 cores vide the Chief Engineer/ TWAD Board/ Madurai No.29/2019-20/ dated 30.03.2020. The scheme implemented with the funding pattern under NABARD and state share under MNP for Rs.162.43 Cores.

The scheme has been designed for present (2021) Population of 1.40 lakhs to provide 7.90 MLD, Intermediate (2036) populating 1.58 lakhs to provide 10.70 MLD.

In the CWSS scheme raw water will be drawn from river vaigai near pickup weir on Downstream side of Vaigaidam and collected into 6.00m dia collection well and pumped through raw water pumping main to proposed 10.70 MLD capacity Treatment plant near kovilpatti Village. After treatment the clear water pumped to proposed sumps of 40 no. and proposed Service Reserviors of 42 no. to habitations through pumping mains for a length of 432.605 km and also the water distributed to public fountains proposed for a length of 24.50 km from Service Reservoirs.

So far 6% of work has been completed and expenditure incurred is Rs. 12.93 Cr (8%). The scheme is targeted for completion by 06 / 2023.

After completion of the scheme 10.70 MLD water will be distributed to 1.78 Lakh population.
